    • In the records of Elizabeth City county appears under date of August 16, 1680, a power of attorney from Ann, wife of William Mallory, to her “father-in-law,” Captain Roger Mallory of New Kent county, authorizing him to release her dower (expectant) in certain lands there. William and Ann (Wythe) Mallory were the ancestors of the Mallorys of Elizabeth City, &c.
